Grains, fruits and vegetables maybe good for us humans but when will the ‘Experts’ learn that these food groups are not meant for cats!! Cats have naturally evolved to eat a high protein meat diet. A cats natural foods are small rodents, birds and mammals, which are generally eaten lock stock and barrel.

This video is a review of the ingredients that are commonly found in dog and cat food. Like our processed food, you will find that most cat  food is filled with grains and starched. These are cheap carbohydrates that cause an insulin response in the body of the cat, will lead to weight gain and possibly cat diabetes.

Your goal should be to keep your cat’s food as close to their natural diet as possible. Look for a cat food that has no grains and is low in carbohydrates. Also beware of wet food that has high carbohydrate gravy.
